How can I protect my intellectual property?

Seeking guidance regarding ways in which I might protect my intellectual property from business consultants and other market competitors.

You need to engage IP counsel. Otherwise you will not succeed. Protecting your rights is complex and sophisticated and requires an investment in legal fees. Anyone who suggests that you can do this without paying counsel is frankly lying.

Consult a patent attorney. Your 'protectable' property may be patentable or copyrightable. Take a look at the USPTO website as well as the US Copyright website for explanations of 'protectable' material.
