Can I use public domain material on my commercial website?

Will it cause any problem if I use clips from public domain cartoons on a commercial website? I plan on changing the audio and will exclude introductory material that lists the company material.

Anybody that believes their copyright or other IP rights have been violated can sue. Its your judgment call on what is public domain versus protected. You better be sure you know what you talking about. Just because you see or hear it on public radio and TV and other media does not mean it is public domain.
